Invicta went ahead ion 2 mins when the keeper gifted Chris Hermitage the ball from a goal kick and he put it into an empty net. The score remained unchanged to half time with the keeper making amends with some excellent stops from Dangerfield, Teddy and Mason. Invicta stepped up the pace early in the second period and with Jack Freke moving into the centre of midfield, Invicta passed the ball much better and started to create better openings. Dangerfield made it 2-0 on 50 mins and Mason 3-0 on 60 mins settled the tie. A number of chances went begging in the final 20 mins with Dangerfield missing 3 golden opportunties. Jack Freke was man of the match with Matt Thompson, Luke Huartson and Teddy providing quality 90 minute performances. Invicta return to league action next week with a tough encounter away at Bredhurst.
        <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher>
        <dc:rights></dc:rights>
        <dc:type>Match</dc:type>

Invicta took the wind and the slope in the first period to push home an early advantage against a Larkfield team who arrived on kick off. The first goal came direct from a Hermitage corner, using the wind to good effect on 6 mins. It was 2-0 on 10 mins when Jack Edmeads slid the ball home from 12 yards. Tom Willers finally made it 3-0 after a couple of earlier opportunties went begging. Before the break Edmeads and Willers both scored their seconds and a fine Hermitage volley after good work from Thompson made it 6-0 at the break. Both Phillips and Stengel had good opening 45 minutes as did Edmeads who were rested at the break. Larkfield applied the pressure in the opening 15 minutes of the second period and penned Invicta back and were denied by some excellent tackles from Nicholls and the safe hands of Faulkner. Invicta finally got hold of the ball and some good interplay between Dangerfield and Freke, allowed Willers to round the keeper for his hat trick. Further goals followed from Huartson and a deep run from Thompson before Willers finished with 2 more to take his tally to 5. Overall a commanding performance from Invicta with all players making excellent contributions in the game.
        <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher>
        <dc:rights></dc:rights>
        <dc:type>Match</dc:type>

Credit to the referee and the Invicta players for keeping their control and discipline in such circumstances to see the game through to the end..

Reece Dangerfield opened the scoring and Hermitage and Thompson made it 3-0 at the break. The second half saw Invicta dominate but the quality of the football was poor. Two penatlies were awarded that Nicholls and Holmes finished well with Reece netting his second and Teddy also getting on the scoresheet to make it 7-0.

Hopefully the remaining games for Invicta this season can be played against teams wanting to play football.
        <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher>
        <dc:rights></dc:rights>
        <dc:type>Match</dc:type>

Invicta went ahead on 20 mins when Holmes cleared from his own box before linking up with Hermitage to set up Edmeads whose first strike hit the bar but was quickest to follow up for his 14th goal of the season. It was 2-0 on the half hour when Edmeads put Hermitage through and his selfish pass to Dangerfield saw him finish neatly from 8 yards. Wateringbury pulled one back right on hal f time with an excellent strike from wide left that gave Faulkner no chance. The opening 10 mins of the second period saw Wateringbury push for an equaliser and it was only when Teddy an Josh Poore joined the game that Invicta regained the initiative and when a free kick was awarded for a foul on Teddy, Mase curled in a beauty after 65 mins. The 4th came when Hermitage again proved provider and Teddy shot from 18 yards was too good for the keeper. A good performance from Chris Austin who worked tirelessly in the middle of the park. Overall Invicta had enough on the day but will need to sharpen up for next week top of the table clash v Blue Eagles.
        <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher>
        <dc:rights></dc:rights>
        <dc:type>Match</dc:type>

In an enthralling encounter that was a credit to both sides, there was little to choose between the teams for the first hour, with Invicta taking the honours in the final third of the game.

Colts were quicker out the blocks and penned Invicta back for the opening skirmishes, but it was Invicta’s first attack that enabled them to take the lead. A great block in the Invicta box by Holmes and winning a second challenge saw the ball break to Edmeads who carried the ball up field, fed Hermitage who slipped Holmes through 1v1 with the keeper and despite a fine save, Edmeads slammed home the rebound.

Colts came straight back and forced a series of corners that Invicta struggled to deal with, but Faulkner remained untroubled. The deserved equaliser came on 20 mins when a long ball from Colts own half put the home side no 11 through and a very cool finish made it 1-1.

The game continued to ebb and flow with Phillips and Edmeads beginning to even things up in the middle of the park as Teddy and Holmes found themselves doing more defending than attacking in the wide midfield positions.

Invicta went 2-1 up on 25 mins, when Willers picked up the ball wide on the right and reached the by-line and his cross was met by Teddy who despite the efforts of the keeper the ball crossed the line.

Back came Colts with a fine save from Faulkner who tipped the ball onto the post from a point blank header and collected the rebound, a long range shot also hit the bar. With half time approaching Invicta were under real pressure and again the no 11 got behind the Invicta defence and an even better finish made it 2-2. There was still time for another attack and when Faulkner brought down a Colts attacker in first half injury time, it looked like Invicta would go into the break 2-3 down. The penalty missed the target and Invicta escaped.

The second period saw the game open up as both teams were going for more goals. Chances fell at both ends with Faulkner making a superb save from a near post header and spreading himself to deny another scoring opportunity for the home side.

The league’s leading goal scorer Tom Willers started to come alive and he was causing all sorts of problems in the home defence and his good work saw the ball fall to Edmeads but he shot straight at the keeper who held on well. The important break through came on 70 minutes when Holmes fed Willers and having beaten two defenders, seemed to take too long but cheekily lobbed the keeper from 12 yards.

Invicta were now fighting to win every ball as they sensed victory could be achieved and both Nicholls and Freke in the centre of defence refused to be beaten. Edmeads was getting on the ball more and more and the extra possession took the heat out the game and frustrated the home side, as they could not get into the Invicta box.

The game should have been sealed when Edmeads fired wide with the goal at his mercy, but shortly after the prolific Willers hit his 18th of the season firing into the top left hand corner on 80 mins. Invicta safely played out the final 10 mins to secure a vital 3 points.

Credit to all 13 players who produced an excellent all round performance with Mozza Holmes earning man of the match for his overall contribution in defence and attack and thoroughly deserving a run in the team.

It was not until 20 minutes into the 2nd period that Jack Edmeads netted Invicta's 5th that Invicta dominated and both Hermitage and Dangerfield both netted twice with a deep run from Matt Thompson saw him finish at the second attempt. Willers rounded things of with his 4th of the game and 22nd of the season. MoM went to Jack Edmeads for his contribution in the build up play towards the goals. The clean sheet was also well earnt with Jack Freke and Andrew Whittome ensuring Larkfield strikers were kept at bay and allowing Faulkner an easier afternoon.
        <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher>
        <dc:rights></dc:rights>
        <dc:type>Match</dc:type>
