After being involved in cup competitions for the last couple of weeks, Saturday's game saw us return to league action with a trip to Penshurst Park.
With Paul Herbert, Andy Hunt and Dan Gurney returning after missing last weeks victory, the squad had a strong look about it, even though we had lost the services of Jack Moore, who had been called up to the 1st team, and Mark Faulkner through injury.
We started the game with J Faulkner in goal, a back four of Locke, Herbert, Chambers and Hunt. Tuema, Bowen, Allan and Poore made up the midfield, with Warner and Rosier in attack. On the bench this week was Tadmor, Gurney and Piscina.
On a pitch which was in desperate need of a cut, we won the toss (for the first time this year) and decided to kick uphill in the first half.
Another fast start saw us make light of the conditions as we immediately took the game to the hosts and in a dominant first half we scored at regular intervals.
After the break we continued to boss the game and continually added to the score with relative ease. Even though Penshurst chose to use 3 different goalkeepers during the course of the game, none of them had an answer to our attacking strength - while at the other end James wasn't forced to make a save all afternoon.
The game finally ended in a 12-0 victory thanks to goals from Allan (5), Warner (3), Rosier (2), Poore and Gurney.
Although today was a very one sided affair we can be pleased by the fact that we didn't sit back on our lead as we have done recently, and we produced a good performance in poor conditions.
With no fixture this week our next game sees us welcome Southborough Reserves to Swanmead in 2 weeks time.
