Tonbridge Invicta abides by the following rules which are based on FA Codes Of Conduct:

Player's Code

  • Play for the fun of it. Not just to please your parents or your coach.
  • Play by the laws of the game.
  • Never argue with the referee or the assistants.
  • Control your temper and use your energy to play better football.
  • Play well for yourself and your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will your own.
  • Be a good sport. Recognise all good play, whether by your team or your opponents.
  • Treat all players as you yourself would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of any player.
  • Remember the aims of the game are to have fun, improve your skills. Do not be a show off.
  • Co-operate with your coach / manager, team mates and opponents, for without them you will not have a game.
  • Learn the laws of the game and you will be a much better football player.

Manager's Code

  • As the team manager, by the actions and conduct, set the example for your players, parents and spectators. Set a good example at all times.
  • Provide your players, parents and spectators with a copy of the codes. Ensure they understand what is required of them and actively promote the codes.
  • You are responsible for the players health, welfare and safety, particularly with young players during the period they are under your control. From the arrival of the first child to the collection of the last.
  • Ensure that each player is correctly dressed with the necessary safety equipment, shin pads, etc. before being allowed to play.
  • Get treatment for an injured player immediately. There are no exceptions.
  • Never, physically or mentally, push a child beyond their abilities.
  • Never condone unacceptable behaviour by doing nothing.
  • Always be prompt, courteous and correct when dealing with league officials, referees and opposition managers. Confirm venues, timings and dates etc. as early as possible and at reasonable times of the day.
  • Read, understand and be aware or your responsibilities as laid down by the league. Remember and remind all, that bad behaviour is unacceptable and punishable by the League with heavy fines and / or suspension for the Club.
  • Check that you have the required equipment, documentation and first aid before you leave for the match and training.

Parent's Code

  • Do not force an unwilling child to play football.
  • Remember, children are involved in football for their enjoyment, not yours.
  • Encourage your child to play to the laws of the game and learn rather than argue with the Referee and officials.
  • Teach your child that honest effort is more important than victory so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.
  • Turn losing into winning by helping your child to work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship. Never ridicule or ‘yell’ at your child for making a mistake or losing a game.
  • Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good play by your team and members of the opposing team.
  • Do not question the Referee’s judgement and never his honesty. Remember he is only human with the same feelings as you and like you sometimes makes an honest error.
  • Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from children’s football.
  • Recognise the value and importance of coaches who are all volunteers. They give their time and resources, usually free, to provide football for your child.
  • Read the laws of the game to better understand what you are looking at and commenting on.

Spectator's Code

  • Remember children play organised sport for their own enjoyment. They are not there to entertain you and they are not miniature Pele’s.
  • Be on your best behaviour. Do not use profane language or harass, physically or verbally, players, managers, coaches, referees or linesman.
  • Applaud all good play by your team and the other team.
  • Show respect for your team opponents. Without them there would be no game.
