Tonbridge Invicta 1 v 0 Leybourne
With Edmeads and Stengel on Man U duty, Thompson suspended and Huartson on long term injury, Invicta welcomed back Josh Poore to the squad for a game that proved as tight as the scoreline suggested. Chances were at a premium as both defences dominated in the first period. Invicta's best chance fell to Dangerfield on 35 mins but he shot wide after good work from Willers. Teddy and Hermitage were combining well on the left but the final ball to the front two was not quite there from the midfield quartet. Leybourne were competing well and showed why they were giving all the top teams a close game. The breakthrough came 5 mins in to the second half when Holmes fed Willers and he dribbled his way to the by line and set up Hermitage to blast home from 6 yards. Leybourne pushed on and despite leaving gaps at the back Willers and Dangerfield could not secure a second goal. That left Whittome, Freke and Phillips to hold firm at the back, with Teddy deputising at left back playing well in Thomo's boots. Despite some late scares Invicta held on with Freke making some great blocks to avoid Faulkner having to perform any heroics. This was a very hard earnt win and the return fixture will be no easier at Cobdown
