DESCRIPTION:Todays game was the first meeting of 3 over the next 2 mon
 ths as this dress rehearsal for the Cup Final had expectations of a ti
 ght game\, it did not disappoint. Defences were largely on top\, with 
 Larkfield looking the stronger in the first period but unable to break
  though.  Whittome\, Nicholls\, Freke  and Teddy did enough to keep La
 rkfield's superior possession to half chances with Faulkner alert to a
 ny breaches in the back line.\n\nThe second period saw Invicta come in
 to the game more and both Dangerfield and Willers started to threaten 
 with Teddy causing problems by running at the Larkfield defence. The b
 est chance of the game came when Dangerfield unselfishly slipped in Wi
 llers one on one with the keeper who made an excellent save to deny a 
 certain goal. A late chance fell to Holmes but again the keeper was ve
 ry quick off his line to block the shot. Whittome cleared a header off
  the line and Faullkner had to tip over a fine curling effort late on.
  A fair result on the day with  Whittome and Dangerfield putting in ex
 cellent performances.\n\nThe end result will have suited rivals Castle
  Colts and Blue Eagles but there is still a long way to go before the 
 title is decided.
