Margate Youth 1 v 3 Tonbridge Invicta (AET)
In the wettest and windiest conditions of the season so far, Invicta returned from the west kent coast with a well earmnt victory to put them in round 2 of the Kent Youth Cup. Playing with the wind in the first period Invicta were unable to breach the home defence despite creating all the openings. However, Invicta improved their football in the second half and despite the home side taking a lead on 55 mins, they responded very well. Luke Huartson netted the equaliser on 60 mins and with Edmeads causing the home defence problems down the right a winning goal was a matter of time. Dangerfield hit the post and Thompson had a fine goal disallowed for offside. Extra time it was and when Hermitage found Thompson from a corner the game was won, a third followed after Hermitage saw his cross deflected into the net for a 3-1 win. An excellent defensive display from Nicholls and Thompson gave the home side few chances and Austin and Huartson dominated the midfield as the game progressed.
