Match updates 2007/08

Game 1 Jaguars - The 3-1 away win saw 4 new players make their debuts, which reflected in a dis-jointed performance. MOTM - Adam Moseley.

Game 2 Foresters - GK Joel Scott did not play, hence the unusual score line of a 6-4 home win. MOTM - Edmund Lines.

Game 3 Spitfires - Hatricks for Woody & Siders contributed to the 0- 11 win at the league leaders, which puts us top of the league. MOTM - Jack Galvin.

Game 4 Darwin - 9 unanserwed goals & 2pts away. The defence lead by Niko was excellent and best of all no goals against. MOTM - Tim Ansdell & Adam Davies-Knight.

Game 5 Spitfires - Disappointing to conceed at home in a one sided game, although all eight goals (8-1) were well created and clinically dispatched . MOTM - Georgie Gill.

Game 6 Battlebridge - 3 first half goals & a much improved defensive preformance keeps us top with a 4-0 win, but credit to the opposition for putting up a real fight.  MOTM - Jack Galvin & Ed Gill.

Game 7 Jets - No goals against & credit to the opposition goal keeper who kept the scoreline to 10 -0. MOTM - Georgie Gill & Jack Galvin.

Game 8 Redhill - Not conceeding is becoming a habit, 6-0 another hatrick for Siders and a brace for Woody, against one of the better footballing teams. MOTM - Edmund Lines.

Game 9  Southwark - Awarded the win & into the 2nd round of the inter-league shield competition.

Game 10 Angels - After dominating for 25 mins, we ended up 2-2, (2 for Siders), therefore remain unbeaten in the league. MOTM -  Matt Shipley & Nick Bolam.

Game 11 Pumas - In appalling conditions against a very competitive team we played our best football of the season, winnining 0-4, 2 for Siders and a clean sheet. MOTM  - Ed Gill & Will Hinton.

Game 12 ST Andrews - Awarded the win & into the 3rd round of the inter-league shield competition.

Game 13 Selsdon A - In what was an excellent 3rd round shield match, we experienced defeat 1-2, having outplayed higher league opposition until the final minute of extra time . MOTM - Joel Scott.

Game 14 Selsdon B - After striking the cross bar & post numerous times we ran out 0-7 winners in a reversed fuxture due to the Sports Ground being 3ft under water. MOTM - Ed Gill & Ed Lines

Game 15 Redhill - 3 for Woody & Siders gets his 20th of the season against good oppoisiton who deserved their goal playing the right way! MOTM - Tim Ansdell & Ed Gill.

Game 16 Selsdon B - 7-0 win with the cross bar struck numerous times, Siders 3, Georgie 2 & 1 apiece for Ed & Matt. MOTM - Georgie Gill.

Game 17 Jets - 0 - 10 at 1/2  time & a further 4 in the 2nd half, provided us with our highest win (Siders 6, Woody 3 & Mini Mo 2. The score could have been well over 20. MOTM - Matt Shipley & Tim Ansdell.

Game 18 Pumas - An excellent defensive display set up a 6 - 0 win. Siders got his 31st ,Woody his 20th & 1 each for Jacko, Georgie & Beno, who recorded our 100th goal of the season. MOTM - Georgie Gill & Jack Galvin.

  • THE TEAM ARE PROMOTED ON THE BACK OF THIS WIN

Game 19 Foresters - Poor first 1/2 low on any quality, mainly due to the competivness of the opposition & the pitch, but  3 quality 2nd 1/2 goals, provided us with a comfortable 1-5 win. MOTM - Luke Brame.

Game 20 Jaguars- A disjointed performance due to the number of subsitutions, but 2pts & 6-0 win (Joel now has 11 clean sheets). MOTM Ed Gill & Adam Moseley.

Game 21 Darwin - Our run of undefeated games now stretches to 18, (following our 1st game for a month with only 11players) with a 3-0 win against a spirited Darwin, 2 for Woody & Sidders 36th for the seaon. MOTM Adam Moseley & Gerogie Gill.

Game 22 Battlebridge -  After weeks without playing, last weeks workout, set us for our best footballing performance of the season with a 0-6 win. Joel & the defence kept our 13th clean sheet of the season.  2 each for Siders & Woody, 1 for Will & a special 1 from Matt.  MOTM  - Mini Mo & Ed Lines.

Game 23 Angels - Champions. Played 19, won 18, drew 1 lost 0, for 124, agianst 10.

Although we came out of the blocks slowly (well played Ollie), that performance against vastly improved opposition & considering what was at stake, must rank as our best ever squad perofmance.

- The defence was awesome, strong tackling, effective clearences / passess, never ever looked like conceeding & kept another clean sheet. 10/10

 - The midfiled was creative, competitive, won first & second ball at every opprtunity and contributed 2 goals. 9/10

- The forwards not only defended from the front they were effective in the right areas & made normally good defenders look a liitle awkward at times. 9/10

I think the best compliement we can take away from this match is  - "we wanted it more", which on reflection is a good way to summarise & finish the season. Well done to all the players and to your parents for your great support. MOTM - Gerorge Marling, Tim Ansdell, Ed Lines, Min Mo & Joel Scott.
