Tonbridge Invicta Spitfires 0 - 1 Darwin A
Date: 5th March 2006
Invicta went down to the league leaders on Sunday but could not be faulted for commitment and kept going to the very end.
The first half was goalless and there was some decent football played by both sides. It stayed that way until four minutes from time but Darwin managed to find some space in the Invicta area and scored what could prove a crucial goal to help their title aspirations.
Darwin had the majority of the chances but found Invicta keeper Joel Scott in top form as usual and he in turn was well protected by defenders Edmund Lines, George Marling and Timmy Ansdell.
The midfield trio of Gareth Hughes, Sam Carpenter and Will Hinton covered every blade and strikers Ben Skinner and Ollie Markides worked hard to create chances. If this sort of performance can be given every week Invicta will win more than they lose.
