Addiscombe Corinthians 3 - 0 Tonbridge Invicta Hurricanes
Date: 29th January 2006
With a strong starting line up Hurricanes started the match like a team possessed.
Immediate pressure on the Addiscombe goal resulted in an early shot from Joshua, unfortunately straight at the keeper.
Hurricanes kept this going and the mounting pressure on Addiscombes defence resulted in several corners and free kicks. Thomas took both free kicks which were saved well by the Addiscombe keeper.
This pressure was maintained for 15 minutes and in what may have been the turning point in the half, Adam Mosley cleared the ball and was past the last defender with Joshua and Thomas clear on goal, unfortunately the ball struck the ref and within moments was in the back of the Hurricanes net after a great first save from debutant keeper Bradley.
The momentum kept going and the Hurricanes continued to pressure Addiscombe.
A crisp pass and shot from Addiscombe produced another great save from Bradley only to see the ball rebound kindly to another Addiscombe player and another goal.
The second half again produced some great team work and great commitment from Aiden, Lawrence, Billy and Will.
In the end tired legs and good pressure from Addiscombe led to their third goal. Brady, Hurricanes second half keeper, had made several great saves already and in the end was only beaten by a low shot from a very narrow angle.
Over all a great team performance from everyone and it was felt all round that the result seemed unfair.
Congratulations to player of the week Joshua Wixen. His work rate in training and during the game earned him the trophy.
