Tonbridge Invicta Hurricanes 6 - 0 Barnet Wood ‘A’
8th October 2006
Scorers:
Ryan
Hine 4, Elliot Checkley, Kieron Matthew
A beautiful October day saw the visit of Barnet Wood A. This, in my opinion, was to be the boys toughest test yet.
Both teams started well with good football being played. Invicta then started to take control of the game and good teamwork saw them race into a 3-0 half time lead with all the goals being scored by Ryan Hine but I have to stress that “good teamwork” enabled Ryan to record his 3rd successive hat-trick, his second goal being a beautifully struck shot from distance that found the top corner.
What I found particularly pleasing was the way they all listened to advice from the touchline and did what was asked of them. At 3 - 0 the game wasn’t over as Barnet seemed to have the ability to get back into the match. The defence was again on top form with Sam Greehy doing a excellent job sweeping and Luke Bohanan doing what Luke does best “non-stop effort and tackling”. If Barnet did manage to break through the defence Stanley Hill was there to make sure the clean sheet remained intact. Stanley never fails to impress me with his bravery and ability between the posts. Three more goals were added after the break by Ryan,Elliot Checkley and Kieron Matthew who both opened their goal scoring accounts for the club (well done you two lets hope there’s many more!).
Kane Joseph held the ball up well and for once didn’t get on the scoresheet but again made plenty of runs creating space. Kane Fairweather worked hard in the middle of the park defending and attacking when required.
This was another great performance and the boys should be applauded for there effort and attitude.
Thank you Mums and Dads for your support it really is appreciated.
Man of the match as voted for by the parents was Ryan Hine.
