Tonbridge Invicta Hurricanes 7 - 1 Orpington ‘B’
24th September 2006
Scorers: Ryan Hine 3, Kane Joseph 2, Kane Fairweather 2
Our first home game of the campaign saw a bright warm morning and plenty of supporters from both sides to encourage the boys.
Tonbridge Invicta got of to a quick start and were 3-0 up in no time. The boys played good crisp passing football and Orpington found it hard in the early stages to get hold of the ball. Chances for Orpington were few and far between and those that came their way were either cleared by Sam Greehy and Luke Bohanan or our keeper Stanley Hill who is so quick to spot danger and come of his line to clear. Invicta continued to press up until half time and added two more goals (half time 5-0).
Invicta were slower out the blocks for the second half and a “wrong decision” at the back gifted Orpington with a goal but Invicta woke up again and it wasn’t long before Invicta added their sixth and seventh goals. Ryan Hine impressed with his driving runs of the right and was rewarded with another match day hat trick. Kane Jospeph carried on from last week with another 2 goals in another hard working display up front. Elliot Checkley had a strong second half after coming on as sub at half time Keiron Mathew and Kane Fairweather both worked hard in midfield with Kane being rewarded for his work rate with 2 goals.
Orpington can hold their heads high as despite the scoreline they never stopped running and played the game in a tremendous spirit. Well done…
The boys need applauding for their first half performance which saw passing moves resulting in good team work and goals.
Man of the Match as voted for by the supporters was Luke Bohanan.
