Tonbridge Invicta Hurricanes 7 - 0 Palace Guard
17th December 2006
Scorers:
Kane Joseph, Ryan Hine 3, Kane Fairweather 2, Elliot Checkley
Our last game of 2006 saw us entertain Palace Guard for the 3rd time this season. We all knew that despite beating them twice this wasn’t going to be an easy game despite what the boys thought! Cocky little devils…. Although there is nothing wrong with being confident as long as this doesn’t turn to arrogance!! Don’t worry parents myself and Lee will keep their feet on the ground.
The game started well! Inside 15 seconds Stanley Hill pulled of a tremendous save from distance to keep the scores level, wakey, wakey always be alert and ready as soon as the whistle blows…
Stanley was called into action a few more times throughout the match but managed to keep his goal intact with help from our 2 defenders Sam and Luke. These two also has very good games Sam clearing up at the back and using his trusty right foot to clear our lines and Luke dribbling the ball out of defence and then passing to one of his midfielders and then returning to his position. Much, much better. Onto midfield, Kane F drove forward, got stuck in and managed to get himself on the score sheet twice. Ryan and Elliot provided the width but may need to be in earlier on a Saturday night as they looked worn out! Seriously they both played well and wkth a return of 3 and 1 goal how could I possibly complain! Kane J played another great game up front working hard and playing a very unselfish game, that is the one thing that impresses me with this young team. Despite being young lads that want to score goals they actually seem to enjoy setting each other up to score. Keiron did what Keiron is always asked to do. He never complains when he is asked to play in many positions and puts in total effort at all teams. Well done Kezza….
At half time we were 3-0 up and probably deserved the scoreline. We are trying to get the boys to realise that once they start playing quick give and go football there are capable of playing some very productive football. The boys don’t seem to score many scrappy goals and this is a compliment to the football they play. The final score was probably a fair reflection of the game and gave Palace Guard their biggest defeat of the year.
Thanks Idi for refereeing this week, hopefully Lee’s leg will get better soon or we may need to buy you a whistle and stopwatch! Oh and thanks for the HOT cup of tea!
Man of the Match as voted for by the parents – “Midfield Dynamo” Kane Fairweather.
Thanks to all the parents for their help and support which is appreciated by the boys, myself and Lee..
Happy Christmas to everyone who knows us from the “Hurricanes”
