Although a football club bearing the name Invicta in the Tonbridge area, can be traced back to the beginning of the last century, the senior section of the club in it's current format was founded in 1953 when members of the Fourth and Fifth Battalions of the Territorial Army formed a team from their headquarters in Avebury Avenue.

In 1992 the club amalgamated with Dunton Green Juniors to form the junior section of the club.
